The ARCUS project is a cooperation between the sponsored by the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF) under contract 01 IS 508 B 2.

A Short Description:

The aim of our project is the development of a standard-architecture for business information systems. This means a generic structure, for example made of layers, components and connectors to support the software developing in the large.

We are engaged in description techniques for the interaction of the parts of the systems, their syntactic and semantic interface. Categorizing different types of components will help in their later reuse.

There are some interrelationsships to the departments SysLab project. We try to embed the concepts of architecture in the overall software development method and to find a way to base our desription techniques on the mathematical system model of the SysLab-Project.
